GIANT DESTROYER - Application suggestions

General

1. Find main runway and clear one opening for easy Cartridge insertion. Make sure  all other openings are sealed.
2. Insert fuse firmly into Cartridge making sure to leave 5cm(2 inches) of fuse exposed.
3. Light fuse and insert Cartridge into runway opening. Minimum fuse burning time is 5 seconds.
4. When Cartridge begins to smoke, cover opening completely with earth.

Use Only in Burrows - NEVER inside buildings

Two or more Cartridges are usually needed for the average burrow since they can often be several feet deep and have many channels. Some animals may be able to hide in sections where the gas does not initially reach, so using enough when treating is critical for success.

Specific

MOLES: (To locate the main runway, look for fresh conical mounds of earth. Select the freshest and remove a plug with a shovel and dig in the direction of the main runway.

If the lateral runway to the mound is plugged, either dig past the plug or probe around it to locate the main runway. When the probe meets little or no resistance the main runway will have been found, then prepare an opening into it large enough for the Cartridge to be inserted easily.

Collect sufficient earth and other material for closing the hole. Light the fuse and insert the Cartridge into the hole fuse-end first. Cover quickly taking care not to smother with earth. Quickly close any holes where gas escapes.

POCKET GOPHERS: Locate fan-shaped mounds with signs of recent activity. Find horseshoe-shaped depression on one side of the mound. To locate the main runway probe ground 40-50 cm (16-20 inches) from the mound on the same side as the depression. The main runway has been located when ground friction on the probe has been released

Dig down to the main runway, taking care not to block it off with earth.
Create an opening large enough for easy insertion of the Cartridge.
Collect enough earth and other material to close the opening.
Light fuse and insert fuse-end first. Cover opening immediately, taking care not to smother the Cartridge with loose earth.'
Cover any opening where gas escapes.

WOODCHUCKS: Locate burrow entrances . Select one for use and close aqll other entrances with rocks and earth.
Collect sufficient materialn for closing vtreated openings.
Light fuse and insert Cartridge fuse-end first.
Cover with rock and earth, being careful not to smother the Cartridge with earth.

NORWAY RATS: Use only where burrows are isolated from homes, barnsa and other man-made structures.

DO NOT USE inside buildings or anywhere gasses could enter buildings.
Collect cample earth and other materials for closing burrow openings.
Treat each burrow opening by lighting fuse and inserting Cartridge fuse-end first into the hole- make sure the hole is large enough for easy insertion before lighting the fuse.
Cover the hole immediately, taking care not to smother the Cartridge with loose earth.
Immediately cover all other openings from which gas escapes.
Proceed to next burrow and repeat as above.

GROUND SQUIRRELS:  Collect plenty of earth and other material for closing burrow openings.
Treat each burrow opening by lighting the fuse and inserting the Cartridge fuse-end first into the hole.
Cover the hole immediately, taking care not to smother the Cartridge with loose earth.
Immediately cover all openings from which gas escapes.
Proceed to the next burrow and treat as above.

SKUNKS:  Locate all entrances to the den. DO NOT TREAT under inhabited structures or buildings where toxic gasses could reach humans, pets  or domestic animals including livestock.

Openings to the den should be large enough to permit easy insertion of Cartridges.
Close any openings to the den other than the one to be treated.
Collect material for closing treated opening - earth, sod, and a large rock may serrve this purpose.
Light the fuse and insert the Cartridge fuse-end first.
Close the opening taking care not to cover the Cartridge with earth.
Close any previously undetected openings where gas escapes.
