Why Nuisance Birds are harmful.
1. They are vectors of a great number of diseases, some of which can be serious; also they carry many species of Helminths.
2. Their nests are breeding and starting points for many insects pests which infest dwellings.
3. They annoy and frigten inhabitants by their continual presence and mobility, their stench, and their frequent intrusions indoors.
4. Their droppings befoul buildings, pavements, cars, monuments, and other surfaces.
5. Their droppings contain corrosive acids which accelerate the deterioration of building materials , corrode metal parts and render them unsightly.
6. Roof gutters and drain pipes are blocked by nests and nesting material, dead birds, droppings, and feathers.
Dropping deposits make it necessary to clean all soiled surfaces regularly.
The annual cost of cleaning public buildings is enormous.
Possible Means of Control
The legal status of the wild city Pigeon is unclear in many jurisdictions, hence many difficulties can arise. Almost all effective control measures can contravene existing legislation dealing with hunting, protection of wildlife, and the environment. So far, none of the attempts to reduce the Pigeon population through sterilization or other biological means has shewn any satisfactory results.
The sucessful repulsion of a Pigeon population is made possible by means of BIRD REPELLENT, it drives the birds out and keeps them away from buildings, it is harmless to birds.
How Does BIRD REPELLENT Work?
It's repellency is purely mechanical - birds alighting on the treated surface d onot get their usual firm hold and are sufficiently disturbed by its slight stickiness to fly off and avoid in the future the object thus treated.
Advantages of BIRD REPELLENT.
1. Stable consistency over a wide temperature range.
2. Fullefficacy retained in cold weather.
3. Adheres to all building mateial.
4. Colorless, transparent, and harmless to surfaces.
5. Retains plasticity - no drying out, nor cracking, nor sweating, nor formation of skin or crust.
6. Resistant to moisture, frost, oxygen, sunlight, gases.
7. Unlimited storage stability.
Before the Application.
Inspect thoroughly and note for treatment all places already infested and/or all possible alternative places.
The surfaces to be treated must be clean, dry, and free from frost.
Remove dust, droppings, nests, nesting mateials, and any dead birds. For this work wear a respirator, gloves, and protective clothing.
Where to Apply?
Treat all resting, sleeping, and nesting places as well as all possible alternative places. such as:
BIRD REPELLENT has virtually unlimited stability; its lasting effect is limited only by gradual dust cover.
Old repellent that has lost its efficacy through dust absorption can be removed with a scraper, whatever remains can be removed with mineral spirit.
BIRD REPELLENT contains POLYBUTENE which forms a tacky non-drying film on application. Similar POLYBUTENE formulations are registered as a SQUIRREL REPELLENT in the US, they are NOT registered for this use in Canada. In other parts of the world Polybutene formulations are used as a BAT REPELLENT, this is NOT a registered use in Canada.
BIRD REPELLENT is available in Cartridges for application with a caulking gun.
Case/12 cartridges.
