Flies 

 

The common Housefly (musca domestica) is a widespread common pest in all industries and structures, and is a major factor in the spread of disease, contaminating food and utensils.    It breeds in garbage, manure, animal wastes, and decaying vegetable and animal matter; eggs are deposited on these materials and hatch into maggots.    Other common pest Flies, found indoors, are  Drosophilae, also called Fruit Flies, Drain Flies or Sewer Flies, and  Cluster Flies, which are  more of a nuisance than anything else.     Outdoors the most aggravating of Flies is the Black Fly, one of the most difficult to control because of its breeding habits.      CONTROL  Fly control is an ongoing, never-ending activity, with   each  type of Fly needing different control measures.    Short term refief may be obtained by using an  AEROSOL INSECTICIDE.  Ongoing Fly control can be obtained by installing a "Time Mist"  Metered Aerosol Dispenser.   The Electric Fly Light  is effective for ongoing trapping  of House  Flies, other Non-Chemical means of trapping Flies utilize various traps.    Outdoors, control may be obtained by using an appropriate Fly spray such as MALATHION.
