MAXFORCE Ant Killer Baits - Biology & Baiting

Ant Killer Baits are designed to work compatibly with the biology and social behavior of Ants to achieve effective control. The Ant population in the colony includes Ants in four developmental stages - eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults. Through trophallaxis, or the sharing of food, the entire colony consumes the bait, for effective control.  Workers locate food and water and return it to the colony, and feed solids to the larvae. The larvae digest the solids, producing a liquid. The other members of the colony take this liquid and feed each other and the queen. When larvae consume bait as food, their liquid output contains the active ingredient.

With a conventional crack and crevice application of a contact insecticide, only a small percentage of the colony is normally exposed. Additionally, using conventional insecticides to kill foraging workers can result in colony budding.  One or more queens may move with workers to a new site to establish a new colony or colonies. This expands the infestation and makes future control efforts more difficult. Baits are a far more effective method of control. When they are used, the Ants do the work for you, transporting the bait directly to the nest.
Finally, with Ant Killer Baits, you can achieve maximum control with less insecticide, because you use only a fraction of the active ingredient that is usually required with insecticide dusts or sprays.
The active ingredient in MAXFORCE Ant Killer Bait is HYDRAMETHYLNON.

Resistance Management
For resistance management, please note that MAXFORCE  Ant Killer Baits contain HYDRAMETHYLNON - a Group 20  insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to HYDRAMETHYLNON  and other Group 20 insecticides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect population if this group of insecticides is used repeatedly in the same field.
Where possible, rotate the use of MAXFORCE with insecticides from a different group.

We suggest BORID and/or DRAX Ant Killer Bait, to which products there is no known resistance.

BEFORE USING ANY PESTICIDE READ THE LABEL CAREFULLY
