MALATHION

.....is an organophosphate insecticide and Miticide.  ([(Dimethoxyphosphinothioyl)thio]butanedioic acid diethyl ester), also known as Insecticide 4049, Carbophos, Mercaptothion, Phosphothion, ENT 17034, Cythion, Derbac-M, Malamar 50, Malaspray, Organoderm, Prioderm, Suleo M, depending on how, when, where, and by whom, formulated and/or sold.    MALATHION formulations provide fast killing action against  structural and outdoor pests, especially Ants,  Bed Bugs, Carpet Beetles,  Clothes Moths,  Clover Mites,  Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Fleas,  Flies, Fruit Flies,  Lice,  Millipedes,  Mosquitoes, Silverfish,  Spiders, Springtails, Tent Caterpillars, Weevils,  and small Flying Insects.    MALATHION formulations are effectively used against Grain Insects.    MALATHION  label claims vary widely, depending on formulation,   concentration, and jurisdiction.    MALATHION 50E is a restricted sale pesticide in Ontario, and many of the label recommendations can only be implemented by Licenced Pesticide Applicators.
