With the banning, in Canada, of so many products that could give longterm protection from pest problems, it is becoming ever more difficult to provide the pest-free environment that occupants expect.
The widespread use of bait insecticides for Ants and Cockroaches has brought its own problems. Baits, whilst being very effective controlling the target pest, do nothing to eliminate other insects that can “take over” the living space of the controlled pests; if haphazard spraying is then undertaken it may negate the effectiveness of the bait insecticides.
An answer to this problem is an integrated program:
1. BAIT GELS & PASTES
These can be used initially to control the Roaches or Ants.
For Roaches we suggest ATTRAX Syringes/reservoirs
For Ants we suggest DRAX Syringes/reservoirs
2. BAIT PLACEMENTS
These can be placed strategically to deal with any stray or accidentally introduced insect.
For Ants we suggest MAXFORCE Ant traps
For permanent placements we suggest ATTRAX and/or DRAX baits in Tamper-resistant Insect Bait Stations, which can be refilled as and when necessary.
3. POWDERS
Powder insecticide can be placed in hidden areas in the walls around water pipes, utility entrances, in wall voids and elevator pits, around the outside of garbage chutes, etc. and will kill pests in the inaccessible areas while providing an effective, longterm barrier against the spread from other (untreated) areas of the building.
For this purpose we suggest BORID powder.
It is most important that the BORID powder be applied as lightly as possible - the powder should be an almost invisible Dust coating; over-application and too-heavy coating will result as a repellent causing the insect(s) to avoid the material.
For best results follow the procedures in the BORID Maintenance Manual
