Skunks

Skunks occasionally become pests by living near or beneath residences. Although the chief objection to their presence may be the penetrating odor they produce, Skunks are important carriers of RABIES. Skunks that are aggressive, or act in an abnormal fashion, should be avoided.
Skunks are familiar to most people but are seldom seen because they are nocturnal. They feed on insects, small rodents and birds, fruits, seeds and are associated sometimes with garbage dumps or landfills. Skunks have 1 or 2 litters per year, with up to 4 young per litter. Adults may live 6 years.

CONTROL
Skunks are excellent burrowers so exclusion may not be effective in controlling them. However, several attempts at exclusion may discourage them. In many areas, Skunks are protected animals.

Skunks have no natural enemies; they may be trapped in a cage trap and released elsewhere, considerable caution should be used in case the animal ejects its musk.

Skunks are easily trapped using Trap#53124,or, if ground burrowing,  "Universal" Trap#53000.
Use a Trap Cover to protect trapped animals and to help prevent being sprayed by a trapped Skunk.

Remember an adult Skunk can accurately hit its intended target at a range of about 10 feet. Even at a distance if 15 feet the Skunk's spray can still be effective, although - at that distance - it is more of a fine mist.
