Snap Trap Mouse & Rat Traps

Make sure the traps are in good mechanical condition. If the traps need oil use an animal or vegetable oil rather than a petroleum based compound.

These traps are equipped with a unique setting control which allows you to use a soft or sensitive set for normal situations, or a firmer set in situations where vibrating machinery or other manufacturing operations could prematurely set off a trap.

Trigger sensitivity is determined after setting by simply moving the arm toward the soft of firm position indicated by the letters "S" or "F" on the side of the setting control. Further adjustments can be made by slightly bending the trigger arm.

Although "SnapTraps" do not need to be baited, baiting will increase the catch in certain situations.

Both Rat and Mouse traps should be set on a hard surface perpendicular to the wall so that the trigger end is toward the wall. Care should be taken to set the traps in areas where there is evidence of recent rodent activity such as fresh droppings, gnawings, rub marks, burrows or urine stains.

Finally:

RATS are often shy of new objects and placing unset traps in a new location for a few days will increase the catch. Rat traps should not be relocated once a good location is found as this will set up a new object reaction.

MICE, on the other hand, are naturally curious so frequent trap relocations will attract their interest.

"SnapTraps" alone will not necessarily solve a rodent problem, and it may be necessary to to use them in conjunction with rodent-proofing, RODENTICIDES, "PestCatcher" Glue Boards, "WindUp" traps, and "Stick-Em" Glue Trays.
